In 1944 Daniel R. Zuck went to work for Lockheed's Skunk Works (the nickname for Lockheed's Advanced Development Projects Division), the top secret engineering department that produced many of the most advanced aircraft of the era. Daniel R. Zuck's projects included:

• Truculent Turtle - Powerplant Designer
• C-130 Hercules Transport - Primary structures designer
• U-2 - Designer Flight Station
• Designed full pressure suit, pilot's suit used on:
    Gemini Space Capsule
    SR-71
    A-12
    Space Shuttle's initial testing flights
• S-3A Navy ASW Carrier based airplane - Department Manager of four engineering design disciplines:
    Pilot's Flight Stations
    Crew Emergency Escape Systems
    Environmental Control Systems for Crew and Armament
    Armament Systems
• Emergency Escape Systems for SR-71 family of planes:
    Holding world record for safe emergency escape at highest Mach no.speed and highest altitude
• Drop Down Emergency Oxygen System:
    demonstrated around the world before takeoff on every jet liner
    Daniel R. Zuck held the original patent with Richard Boheme, a former Skunk Works CEO
